"My Guitar" is an unreleased song written by Rivers Cuomo.
Overview
"My Guitar" was written in consideration for Weezer's ninth studio album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End. It is unknown whether or not the song was ever demoed as a band. It has never been released to fans in any form.
An anonymous A&R assistant who heard the song described it as "heavy". Other anonymous listeners have described the song as being about Cuomo killing a metaphorical "monster inside" with his guitar, purporting that the song's bridge was reused for the Black Album song "High as a Kite".[1] These purported themes seemingly match text found in the liner notes for Everything Will Be Alright in the End ("I realize that the monster in the end dies too, It's okay / Even the monster will die") though it is unknown whether they are related. Both aforementioned sources describe the song as reminiscent of Maladroit.
