"Part-Time Robot" is a single by the Japanese artist Lovely Summer-Chan. It was released on May 18, 2016.[1]

Overview

The single is a homage to the Weezer song "Beverly Hills", with both being near-identical in melody and structure. While no official releases of "Part-Time Robot" directly credit or mention the band, in an interview with the online Japanese publication CINRA, Lovely Summer-Chan states that Weezer ("Beverly Hills" in particular) served as her inspiration to write the song.[2] Additionally, in a tweet made on August 6, 2018, she directly refers to the single as a parody of the Weezer song.[3]

The single's art is a reference to the cover of Weezer (The Blue Album).

Lyrics

I don’t need no investigations, yeah
And I don’t need no calculations, yeah
I’m tired of working as a part-time robot

I’ve got this feeling that there’s something wrong
Why are we at a place we don’t belong?
I guess the problem lies within our lot

Inside my head, I’ll have it my way
I am the rules and you gotta obey
I wanna stand tall and live with no fear
How long should I shout until that guy will hear?

I don’t need no investigations, yeah
And I don’t need no calculations, yeah
I’m tired of working as a part-time robot

I’ve got this feeling that there’s something wrong
Why are we at a place we don’t belong?
I guess thе problem lies within our lot

Inside my hеad, I’ll have it my way
I am the rules and you gotta obey
I wanna stand tall and live with no fear
How long should I shout until that guy will hear?
Smoking on a rumbling train with a random ticket in hand
Heading to an oasis, or the North Pole, or…
Who knows where I’ll land?

I’ve got this feeling that there’s something wrong
Why are we at a place we don’t belong?
I guess the problem lies within our lot

Inside my head, I’ll have it my way
I am the rules and you gotta obey
I wanna stand tall and live with no fear
I’m a selfish baby, sorry for that, my dear

I’m sorry for that my dear
