Rivers Cuomo described the EP's sound as "21st century 90s". Aesthetically, he linked the project to 44 BC at the end of the Roman Republic (in contrast to the Celtic theming around SZNZ: Spring), with an intended emotion of "youthful indignation".[1]

The album’s cover art was leaked on June 10, 2022 via a listing on Amazon France.[2]

On June 12, 2022, fans discovered short snippets of songs from the album in the source code to Cuomo's web browser game, Weezle, on which Cuomo intended for said snippets to be released daily.
