"Safe Harbor" (also known as Sail Away) is an unreleased song written by Matt Sharp.

Overview

Matt Sharp performed the song while touring his solo material for his eponymous solo album and 2003 EP. According to the Weezer Recording History, Sharp and Rivers Cuomo recorded a version of the song in December of that same year. It is unknown how or if this version differs from Sharp's solo version. It is possible this song could have been included on the unfinished Matt Sharp / Rivers Cuomo album.

Lyrics

So now I ask you why I should bother
As I lay down wide awake
As I'm miles from safe harbor
Sail away now, sail away

I guess I blame this all on my mother
Do I have the right to complain?
As I'm miles from safe harbor
Sail away now, sail away

Sail away, sail away
Sail away now, sail away
Away now, sail away
Sail away now, sail away

Well, I'm down here
Yes, I lay down wide awake
And I'm miles from safe harbor
Sail away, just sail away

Sail away, sail away
Sail away now, sail away
Away now, sail away
Sail away now, sail away

Away, wide awake
Yes away, sail away
Ah, away, sail away
Sail away now, sail away
