Fan recollections
Weezer-Rules mailing list member Alan B. wrote about the concert:[4]
Yesterday, was the greatest day. I went to the No Doubt/Weezer concert in camden. For any of those who were there, we were thye ones with the Surburban with weezer soaped on the windows. When we got there, the =w= bus came in right behind us. By the time we had parked, they were already inside. That was at around 4:30. We stood around for a while, and talked to cool people. Then Tom from No Doubt came out and signed some autographs. Then Rivers and Pat and Brian came out behind the gate, which was in a restricted area. Rivers had his soccer ball, and pat and brian went inside. Rivers started walking over. I yelled to him and he waved . I tried to get him to come over. He took his shirt off, and started kicking the ball against a wall. Then a cool guy waled back and told rivers we wanted his autograph. He said he was going to come over, but then he left and went inside. We waited about another hour, but no luck. Then a very nice security guard came and asked us if we wanted autographs. He took them in to the gate, and only found pat. I got my good life single signed by him. Then we went inside. The kuna chicks sucked. Then weezer came out and they kicked ass. Maatt was awesome. He was jumping and shit. we started a few cheers, and everyone thought we were insane. When No Doubt came on, we stayed for a little bit, and then left. We met these girls outside, they told us that weezer had left 5 minutes ago. We talked to them for awhile. One of them got their shorts signed by the band. They said they grabbed rivers dick, and matt's ass., Theyn gave us pieces of matt's cigeratte box. It was great.

Attendee Ghazal Zekavat also recounted the concert in an e-mail to Karl Koch:[5]
I saw weezer at the very first concert I ever went to. My friends and I were crazy about No Doubt at the time, so we all got tickets for the camden, nj show. once we got there, we settled into our seats... we were in row R or W, one of the two. we could barely see anything! The opening band was this group called the "lunachicks." At this point, everybody in the venue was sitting down, except for these two girls near the front who were really rocking out. Once they finished... the next band began setting up their stuff. It was this band I had never heard of before. My friend Jamie assured me that they were really good but I was kind of scared because they sort of unveiled this big, lighted =w= and everybody stood up. If I had known then that this was the pinkerton promo tour, i think i would have "shat" my pants. I remember that all my friends and I jumped up and down during a lot of the songs. The only song I really remember is Buddy Holly... Jamie leaned in and was like "THIS IS BUDDY HOLLY!!!" I think it was the last song of the set. Soon, the big =w= was put away and I remember thinking... "huh, at least they were better than the lunachicks." I look back on this incident with frustration and pride. Yes- I was there to see the pinkerton promo tour. But back then, I probably would have agreed that there wasn't much to see in "little, old, three-chord" Rivers. This is where the frustration comes in. I was there to witness my favorite band promoting one of my favorite albums, and yet, I didn't even know it.
