Fan recollection
Weezer Fan Club member Kara Bush wrote about the concert in issue 4 of Weezine:
Just to let you know, the Universal Amphitheatre concert was so good. They played so strongly. I felt so sorry for Rivers standing up there with his cane? Somebody threw a beachball on the stage and he hobbled over and hit it into the audience with his cane. It came back after bumping something, so he hit it out there again. After all that trouble, some dumb ass guard intercepted it and took it away.
The concert was cool. About halfway through, they shot this spaghetti type stuff into the pit where we were, from the ceiling. And after they left the stage, the whole amphitheatre was chanting, "wee-zer, wee-zer, etc..." But they didn't come back out darn it. It was the best night of my life and I wish I had my stub to remember it, but they just gave us our pit bracelets.
