"Wanda (You're My Only Love)" is a primarily acoustic home demo by Rivers Cuomo. It was leaked several years prior to it's eventual release on Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo.

"Wanda" was written in 1995 in response to a request that Rivers write a song for the film Angus. Rivers said, "One of my introductions to the realities of the music industry came when my manager told me that a movie production company wanted me to compose a song for the movie, Angus." According to Rivers, he studied the script to really get to know the movie's main character. Rivers related to him. Said Rivers, "He was an outcast, like me."

"I poured my heart into the song. I used details from the characters’ lives in the movie, but really the emotions were mine," Rivers said. When Rivers sent the song to the movie producers, they deemed it too literal and that they wanted a "more up beat rock number". Many of the songs lyrics fuse the situations of the character Angus with Rivers. For example, in early drafts of the movie, Angus' father is gay. In the song, Rivers sings "...my daddy's gay." In the movie, Wanda is actually a blow up doll that Angus' friend, Troy, steals from his father to teach Angus how to dance. (more...)
