Today in Weezer History: 10/28/1994 - Weezer plays 2 shows in one day, barely making it to the second one in time. Today Weezer was in the middle of their 3 month tour opening for Live, but their new single "Buddy Holly" was starting to catch fire at KROQ Los Angeles (when its video exploded on Mtv in another month's time, many more stations would be playing it), and so KROQ set up a promotional "in-store", that was set up outdoors of the Blockbuster Music store in Cerritos, CA. (Blockbuster Video, now pretty much gone, was once so big that they started to open music stores too). But this in-store was the afternoon of the same day as the show with Live, which was happening 90 minutes (in good traffic) down the I-5 at the UCSD Price Center in San Diego that night. Factoring in the long lines for autographs after the nearly shut down chaotic performance, and naturally awful traffic on the I-5, and we just barely made it to SD in time to throw the gear on stage and play there too. Pix include stills from the low quality fragmentary bootleg video thats been on Youtube for years, that features random inexplicable editing and commetary by the filmers. (youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvMfduIYq7M ), and 3 photos from the autograph signing by an unknown fan.
