Ryen Slegr: Difference between revisions

Ryen is best known as a guitarist, vocalist, and founding member of the California rock band [[Ozma]]. Slegr graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in history. He also studied Japanese court music called Gagaku at UCLA and took various music classes at Pasadena City College, including Spud Murphy's Equal Interval System. After Ozma's split in [[2004]], Ryen along with [[Jose Galvez]] helped form the band [[Yes Dear]]. In 2012, Slegr played guitar and keyboards for [[Rachel Haden]] at several shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco in a band with Adam Phaler of ''Jawbreaker'' and Warren Defever of ''His Name is Alive''[https://youtu.be/iebboOfhWFM]. He has also performed as a member of the band [[the Rentals]], and is credited, alongside Ozma member [[Daniel Brummel]], with co-writing the [[Weezer]] song "[[Eulogy for a Rock Band]]". Ryen has often been active on Ozma fansites, choosing the name "machatte" on the Ozma Fan Forums, and the name "ozmasoundings" on the Ozma discord server.
