Biography

Ryen is best known as a guitarist, vocalist, and founding member of the California rock band Ozma. Slegr graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in history. In 2012, Slegr played guitar and keyboards for Rachel Haden at several shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco in a band with Adam Phaler of Jawbreaker and Warren Defever of His Name is Alive.[1] He has also performed as a member of the band the Rentals, and is credited, alongside Ozma member Daniel Brummel, with co-writing the Weezer song "Eulogy for a Rock Band". Ryen has often been active on Ozma fansites, choosing the name "machatte" on the Ozma Fan Forums, and the name "ozmasoundings" on the Ozma discord server.
