"A Hundred Times as Good" (also known as "I'm with You Sister'", formerly "I Believe in You") is the sixth track from the debut album by The Special Goodness.

Overview

Patrick Wilson demoed a song which went under the titles "I'm with You Sister" and "I Believe in You" during his fall 1995 Huge Guy demo sessions.[1]: a b This song was recorded in March/April 1996 for inclusion on his debut album, The Special Goodness.[1]: c The song goes under two different titles: on Geffen promos issued in 1996 and handmade copies of the album sold on tour in fall 1999, the song retains the title "I'm with You Sister"; on the official 1998 Japanese release on Rock Records as well as handmade copies of the album sold on tour in spring 2000, it uses the new title "A Hundred Times as Good".

In late 1999, a 3-song CD-R promo was printed (and possibly issued in small quantities) by Loosegrove Records. It uses the title "I'm with You Sister".[2]

Lyrics

How can you go on this way?
A waste of every day
It's meaningless and sad
And I just have to say
That no one really wants to see you try
They like how you don't bitch about your slice of pie
I think you're a hundred times as good

Now, what makes you want to stay?
I ask it everyday
It's not as if they had
Respect for what you say
'Cause they don't really want you to succeed
They're happy with the way you have a need for them
I think you should push them all away

Even if you stay and succeed
You will know that it's nonsense
And it doesn't wash off for a very long time

So don't be the one that didn't have the nerve
To stand up for yourself because you had to serve
Someone with some pretty dumb ideas
