Background

"Narcissus Blooming" was demoed as part of Ecce Homo, an early draft of the album concept that eventually became Weezer's 2014 album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End. A draft of Ecce Homo released as part of the demo compilation Alone XI: The EWBAITE Years in 2020 listed the song as the first part of the album's second act. The instrumental was later reworked into the intro of the song "The Garden of Eden" from Weezer's 2022 album SZNZ: Spring. A demo of "Narcissus Blooming" was added to Alone XI on March 25, 2022.
