Fury was started in the summer of 1984 after Rivers received his first guitar. The inspiration for Fury came from witnessing an 8th grade talent show performance of Quiet Riot. Both Justin and Rivers took note of the screaming crowds and girls. Fury's first rehearsal was on [[June 23]], 1984 -- four days after Rivers received his guitar. Fury was a band comprised solely of Kiss covers. Rivers would sing and play [[Ace Frehley]]'s solos while Leaves played Paul Stanley's rhythm guitar parts.
