Juliana's Pony: Total System Failure is an album by Juliana Hatfield. It was released simultaneously with Hatfield's fourth solo album, Beautiful Creature. Mikey Welsh performed bass on the album and has songwriting credits on four tracks.
Overview
With rehearsals for Weezer's third album stalling in the spring of 1999, the band's management suggested that they take a break until they were ready to proceed. According to Karl Koch, Mikey Welsh began writing bass lines in the spring of 1999, initially offering them to Rivers Cuomo for song ideas. When Cuomo did not use them, Welsh offered them to Juliana Hatfield.[1] Welsh is credited as a co-writer on four of the album's songs.
