Overview
The song was first played at an acoustic concert featuring Ryen Slegr and Daniel Brummel on September 22, 2024. Its first and only performance with Ozma was during the second of three shows at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California the same year. This performance also featured Slegr and Brummel on acoustic guitars. "Summerlove" is the first Ozma song since "Restart" in 2002 to be written by a combination of Slegr, Brummel, and Jose Galvez. The chorus of the song is borrowed from "Actually", a song Galvez had previously released on his solo album Jose Galvez.
