Described as a "weird and funny vocal exercise" by Karl Koch, "Please Sweet Peepers" was recorded in the summer of 1992.[1] The song was initially heard by fans when it was leaked through the demo storefront on riverscuomo.com on November 7, 2020, before being sold as part of the digital compilation Alone IV: The Blue-Pinkerton Years on November 22.

Karl Koch recorded a full-band acapella take of "Please Sweet Peepers" on August 14, 1992, while the band was driving around Berkeley, CA on their first tour.[2]
