"Meet Up with Our Maker" (formerly "Losing Battle", "Meeting with Our Maker," and "Meet Up with My Maker") is a song by Rivers Cuomo, originally demoed in consideration for what would eventually become Weezer's ninth album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End. Various demos were released as part of the digital compilation Alone XI: The EWBAITE Years in 2020.

Overview

"Meet Up with Our Maker" is first known to have been demoed by Rivers Cuomo in late October/early November of 2011 and first released to fans in 2020 as part of the digital demo compilation Alone XI: The EWBAITE Years. Although Cuomo has not commented on the specific impetus for the song, he cited several difficult life events that inspired his songwriting from 2011 to 2014 on the digital storefront description for Alone XI, among them the death of former Weezer bassist Mikey Welsh, who passed away from a (suspected) drug overdose less than a month prior to the recording of "Meet Up with Our Maker."
