Overview
"Always, Forever" is a reworking of a previous Cuomo demo, "Purple Flowers." "Always, Forever" is first known to have been demoed by Cuomo at S.I.R Rehearsal Studios in 2004. The song underwent several iterative rewrites throughout the year under multiple titles, ultimately culminating in the song "Last Chance," which was completed by Weezer during the final Make Believe sessions at Grandmaster Recorders in Los Angeles, but did not appear on the final album.
"Always, Forever" was first heard by fans when multiple demos were leaked through the demo storefront on riverscuomo.com on November 7, 2020. The song was made available for purchase as part of the digital compilation Alone IX: The Make Believe Years on November 22, 2020.
