Today in Weezer History: 12/3/2009 - Show at Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee, WI. Today in 2009 the band were deep in the high energy phase of touring that started with 2008's Troublemaker Tour. Rivers was still using trampolines to achieve incredible feats of aerial dominance, Josh Freese had joined the squad to provide drums, allowing Pat to bolster the front lines of rock for much of the set, and the shows were often marked by stunts and surprise guests. Every night a local fan won a radio contest to come on stage and duet with Rivers on "If You're Wondering", and usually those winners were girls, but tonight it was a bearded guy, which only caused a brief flicker of confusion. This tour would abruptly be called off in a few short days, when Rivers' bus suffered a crash in upstate New York. Touring would continue in 2010 after Rivers recovered from his injuries, but the trampolines would not return.
