Sugar Daddies

Sugar daddies come
Basket weavers too
Everyone arrives
No one else is due

???, get out of the way
'Cause I don't want to take them all
Ever since I was a little-bitty boy
I ran for the open door

Funeral for music and the magazines too
Velvet rope and videos and every taboo

???, get out of the way
'Cause I don't want to take them all
Ever since I was a little-bitty boy
I ran for the open door

Funeral for music and the magazines too
Velvet rope and videos and every taboo
Can we ever move on?
Can we ever groove on?
Can we drive a stake into the heart of the past?

Come back, sweet thing
I've been lonely
I've been watching you, so hold me
Come back, sweet thing
I've been lonely
I've been watching you, so hold me

People seem to think
Always of the past
Why did they do this?
Why did they do that?

People, let it go
??? what you got to do
Just because it was ???
Doesn't mean it's right for you

Give me a cold glass of water so I can drink
Shut down all the presses so our thinkers can think

Can we ever move on?
Can we ever groove on
Can we drive a stake into the heart of the past?

Come back, sweet thing
I've been lonely
I've been watching you, so hold me

Come back, please
