...4th show in a 4 in a row run, and while the weez machine is running strong, the still chilly Northeast has taken a bit of a toll. Scott reported a headcold a few days back and initially almost lost his voice. He fought back hard with tea, vitamin c, and plenty of rest and is on the rebound. However tour manager Stuart reported feeling a little lousy today, and even I can feel that things arent quite right in the head department. But the guys completed the Toronto show in fine form, delivering another crushing set, and we now roll onto the relief of a day off for rest and recovery.

Today's show was almost the same set as the last 2 nights, but included the most excellently rendered "This Is Such A Pity" and brought the reintroduction of the 'long' Buddy Holly intro last seen in '02, and a Beverly Hills extended beginning that was much more effective than the previous night's first attempt. The Kool Haus is essentially a big metal cube, which is notoriously the worst possible architecture for listening to loud amplified music, so its tricky to get a good sound. I wandered the audience for much of the set today and was pleasantly suprised at the thick combination of sheer volume and sonic clarity I was getting. Weezer is really in top form these days. No, they dont jump around like David Lee Roth, but you tend to miss notes and make mistakes when you jump around too much.

Just want to say whassap to Mark Y., Hallie G. and Kim F. and their assorted peeps! T'was a real pleasure to share some quality time post show.

post show there was a 'release party' at the 'Republik' club, anyone from the Kool Haus could get in if they showed their ticket stub. We had to jet so we dont know how it went at this point.

bus #2 (Brian, Scott + others) movie action - "Once Upon A Time In The West", "La Dolce Vida", and.... "Scream, Blacula, Scream!". Also the usual burnt fare on vh1 Classic!

Saw the guys tonight in Toronto, As soon as we get in line I see Karl! Doing the videotaping and we called his name and flashed him the =w= on the camera. I witnessed one of the craziest things ever - we were waiting in line to get into kool haus and our friend had an extra ticket he was going to sell but he went to get food so we were waiting and a guy heard we had an extra ticket...so we said when our friend got back and hadnt sold it yet he could buy it, 1 minute before our friend gets back the guy finds a ticket just laying on the street on the curb. whoa score. scalpers selling tickets for $125-$150. More crazyness as soon as we get into kool haus, we see none other then THE MATT BONNER, The Red Rocket! I love that guy. The opening band Ringside played, they were not bad, very mellowy...cool band but they would be a band i'd listen to their cd, not go see in concert. Then the weez came out, the crowd was absolutely DEAD. It was kinda disappointing, seemed like a lot more casual fans there who weren't really into it that much. [really? I saw some pretty darn stoked people out there myself... -karl] Definate favourite of the night - El Scorcho tease at the start of Sweater Song. Opened with Tired of Sex, amazing! The only better opener i think could have been Dope Nose which wasn't played along with anything from Maladroit again for some reason...Getchoo with Brian doing the vocals...No One Else which i thought was the best song of the night...Good show by the guys, hope to see them back in town soon. ---Ryan C.
