I have brought you here tonight
To lay you out upon the stone
You're the girl that loves me best
Part the robe that hides your chest
Darlin', I think it's time that I let you go
And I don't feel any guilt as I touch your throat
You taught me how to sing my songs
What to drink and not to smoke
When to help and who to hate
All for love we suffocate
Everybody wants a chance to feel all alone
Hanging out here beside the old open road
Little one, you have done
All you could to keep me in your arms
Oh, but I watch as you choke on your tears
Everybody wants a chance to feel all alone
Suddenly, I feel so strong
I don't hear a single sound
Looking up towards the stars
I can see for very far
Everybody wants a chance to feel all alone
Hanging out here, the old open road
Little one, you have done
All you could to keep me in your arms
Oh, but I watch as you choke on your tears
Everybody wants a chance to feel all alone
Everybody wants a chance to feel all alone
Hanging out here beside the old open road
Little one, you have done
All you could to keep me in your arms
Oh, but I watch as you choke on your tears
Everybody wants a chance to feel all alone
Everybody wants a chance to feel all alone
Everybody wants a chance to feel all alone

Overview
"Everybody Wants a Chance to Feel All Alone" was first demoed by Rivers Cuomo in 2002. The song's verse melody resembles that of the 2000 demo "Everybody Waits," though it is unknown if this is a coincidence. An acoustic demo featuring Cuomo and (at least) Brian Bell was distributed (alongside a demo of "Private Message") by the band onto Weezer fan message boards on October 25, 2002.[2] The song was recorded various times, both as solo Cuomo demos and as a full band, from 2002 to 2004. The song was performed at a secret acoustic show at the Hotel Café in Los Angeles on November 3, 2002.
A demo of the song was leaked online through the demo storefront on riverscuomo.com on November 7, 2020. Various demos were made available for purchase as part of the demo bundles Alone VIII: The Maladroit Years and Alone IX: The Make Believe Years shortly thereafter, on November 22.
Lyrics
I have brought you here tonight
To lay you out upon the stone
You're the girl that loves me best
Part the robe that guards your chest
Darling, I want the chance to be all alone
Hanging out here besides the old open road
Say goodbye; don't you cry
I have loved you too for very long
Oh, but I've got to get free of my heart
Everybody wants a chance to feel alone
You taught me how to sing my songs
What to drink and where to eat
Who to help and who to hate
All for love you suffocate
Darling, I think it's time I let you go
I don't feel any remorse as I touch your throat
Little one, you have done
All you could to keep me in your arms
Oh, but I watch as you choke on your tears
Everybody has a time of it letting go
I turn to the sky and leave you behind
With nary a clue of what I will do
But out on my own, I know I will reach
The deepest of stars, the furthest of seas
Darling, I think it's time I let you go
I don't feel any remorse as I touch your throat
Little one, you have done
All you could to keep me in your arms
Oh, but I watch as you choke on your tears
Everybody has a time of it letting go
I turn to the sky and leave you behind
With nary a clue of what I will do
But out on my own, I know I will reach
The deepest of stars, the furthest of seas
The furthest of seas, the furthest of seas
The furthest of seas
