...New Contest!
Weezer fans and fellow musicians can now visit Indaba Music http://www.indabamusic.com/remixweezer to remix Weezer’s song “Love Is the Answer.” As announced last night by Pat Wilson on “Radio Weezer”, weezer is seeking a “global version” of the track from their recent release Raditude, with a public vote determining the top 10 winners to receive a signed copy of the new album and be featured on weezer.com and www.myspace.com/weezer. The Grand Prize winner will also have the opportunity to participate in a one-on-one Indaba collaboration with frontman Rivers Cuomo to create an entirely new song.

There will be a four-week submission period and a two-week voting period. Weezer, an A&R executive from Interscope/Geffen and Indaba Music will also hand-pick the top remixes from the semi-finalists for a commercial release, and the artists will receive a portion of the publishing royalties for their contributions.

“Love Is the Answer” was written and recorded by Weezer for Raditude, but before the record was mixed, a friend of the band asked if she could re-imagine the song. The band liked her resulting Hindi version so much that they put it on the album. Through Indaba, the original tracks have now been made available to members to re-imagine the song again themselves. The original track can be previewed along with the transformed Hindi version on the contest page at http://www.indabamusic.com/remixweezer. The band is excited to hear how Indaba’s community will revolutionize the song again.

The contest is officialy underway right now, so what are you waiting for?
