Overview
Cuomo mentioned the song title "Dorothy" in an edit on his wiki, Riverpedia, on February 16, 2021, indicating that it was planned for the summer-themed segment of Weezer's forthcoming 2022 album project, SZNZ. Said Cuomo, "Aww yeah jake loves dorothy from summer"[1]
Rivers Cuomo first confirmed the song title "Portia" on his Discord server on June 13, 2022 after a clip of the song was discovered by fans in the source code for Cuomo's web game Weezle, as one of several planned teasers for SZNZ: Summer.[2] "Portia" was confirmed to be a reworking of "Dorothy" when a demo of the latter was leaked online on December 25, 2022.
