Rosemary is a song written by Rivers Cuomo in 1997. The song was played at a number of Weezer “tryout” shows in 1997 and 1998, in which Rivers was joined by various musicians with the hopes of finding a member to replace former Weezer bassist Matt Sharp (eventually the band would settle on Boston musician Mikey Welsh).
Rosemary, like many other songs played during this time period during Weezer tryouts and Homie shows, has never been officially released.

Lyrics

The sun is up and trembling
And all around the robins sing
The spring is on and everything is fine
And in the light I see you there
With flowers all around your hair
Sleepyhead, it’s time to share your dreams

But you don’t listen
You don’t listen
You and Rosemary are kissin’

Echoing, I hear the shouts
Of children playing in the park
I wonder what they laugh and cry about
And then I want to be with you
As close as I can get to you
Sleepyhead, it’s time to share your love

But you don’t listen
You don’t listen
You and rosemary are kissin
You don’t listen
You don’t listen
You and Rosemary are kissin

Better days will pass us by
But I only love you more each time
Better days will come again
But I won’t be leaving in the end
And if I lose you in the light
I hope you still can be my friend
