Spotify Sessions is a 2016 live EP by Weezer. It was recorded live at the Spotify offices in New York City.

Overview

In early 2016, a poll was posted on the fan club Facebook group asking what deep cut fans would like to see at a potential Spotify Sessions. Although the results were never posted, it can be assumed that "Slave" was the winner as it was played. This marked the first time the song had been performed live since 2002.

The sessions were recorded in the first week of April, but were not released until June 10, 2016. The sessions are connected to the concert on April 1 at Rough Trade records, as they were both in the same week, live, acoustic, and had 5 tracks. However, "Do You Wanna Get High?" and "L.A. Girlz" were played at the show instead of "Island in the Sun" and "Buddy Holly."

At the end of "Slave," Rivers tells the audience "thanks for having us, guys."

Release

On June 10, 2016, the sessions became available to stream for free on Spotify. It has received no physical or download release, although users have since posted the songs on Youtube.
