Overview

This song was first demoed by Wilson in September 1993 on a 4-track recorder, while Weezer was in the process of recording Weezer (The Blue Album).[1]: a It was recorded for his 8-track demo My Spine in October of the same year.[1]: b It was also included on the Suburban Advantage demo EP, released in late spring 1994.[1]: c

The demo's vocal melody was retooled for the Special Goodness song "Pardon Me", recorded in 1996 and released in 1998 on the band's self-titled debut. Its guitar melody re-appears on "Everywhere", from the 2012 album Natural.

Lyrics

I can't believe the things I see
They haven't much to do with me
But I'm content to know that we're together

I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true
Take my hand 'cause I am just like you

Nobody knows what is to be
No crystal ball through which to see
But I'm content to know that we're together
Yes, I'm content to know that we're together

I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true
Take my hand 'cause I am just like you

I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true
Take my hand 'cause I am just like
I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true
Take my hand 'cause I am just like you
