...MB '05 Tour: Day 98: Fly from Brazil to LA
Most brutal day of the tour by a long shot - but it was all worth it. Today never really "started", it just continued from yesterday, with the Curitiba show. Our flight out from Curitiba was so early and the show was so late, that there was only about an hour at the hotel to shower and pack after the show before cruising to the airport. So needless to say, it got stupid. Lack of sleep can really get weird on a day where you go to the airport at 5:30 AM, fly an hour, change planes in Sao Paolo, go on a 9.5 hour flight to Mexico City, change planes in Mexico City, and finally another 4 hour flight to L.A. All to find that they lost your luggage. Which happened. The missing luggage included key pieces of band gear which were needed for the next day's Jimmy Kimmel Show performance, so this was no ordinary "I need to buy more socks" problem. We all went to bed crossing our fingers that the airline would turn the stuff up by morning. Fortunately, the luggage came in on a later flight from Mexico City, and by the time we all congregated at Kimmel the next day, we had our stuff back.

...There is now a second Long Beach show, on 10/23. Tickets on sale now. Apparently they just rolled them over into the new day when the 10/22 show sold out.
